Last Days of Hyde Mill

The demolition of Hyde Mill which started in September 2009 is nearing completion. Just a few walls remain standing.

You can see this gaping hole from a little further away on Hyde DP Xtra.

I really love those old mills.
Better to convert them to flats than to destroy them

Leaving a huge question mark with that hole; wondering about what kind of life we are "grinding".

Please have a wonderful start into the new week.
p.s.: interesting, that I saw a nearly same hole not long ago, yet it happens to be there for ages.

As someone who worked in the warehouse at Findel Education until it closed in 2008,it's sad to see the old building in this state.

I've been away from Hyde for almost 2 years so thanks for the photos.

It does look a little sad.
