On the Train to Rose Hill


This is the 12.38 train yesterday out of Manchester Piccadilly bound for Rose Hill (Marple) calling at Fairfield, Guide Bridge, Hyde North, Hyde Central, Woodley and Romiley.

Looks more like a bus than a train. No wonder train companies don't make any money with just 2 passengers on board.

Where's the passage to walk along?
It seems to be full of seats.

This was the front carriage - or more accurately the back carriage - trains consist of several carriages and the front and rear both have engines so the train doesn't have to actually turn round at termini - just travel in t'opposite direction.

There were three seats on one side and two on t'other and a gangway between.

There were probably three or four carriages and there would have been more people in those but not a lot more on this journey.

The train would have been fairly full on its inward journey to Manchester and return trains after about 4pm would have been busier.
