The Uncrowned Crown
The Crown on Market Street is one the latest pubs to close. All its signage has been removed although the outlines are clearly visible.
Only the hanging baskets remain.
Since I took this a few weeks ago, a board has appeared indicating that it is to be sold at auction. There is a similar sign now on the Globe also.

That's such a shame, hate to hear of these old pubs closing down.
That's so sad. We have too many of those closings, also!
They are going down like flies. This one is particularly bad because it's a Robinsons.
You have a mention at my place today.
Sadly, another one bites the dust.
This is becoming all too common. I posted a picture today of a place here that recently closed after many years of being in business. It's very sad.
I wonder when it is going to end? It seems like every pub in England is calling time. A lot of history has now vanished forever.
Pubs are closing at a record rate, a sign of the times.
This is such a loss Gerald... there's going to be more shuting soon as well.
