
Following up on my post about the demolition of the Caxton Works, the carved doorway is still there, but the top part has already gone.

It is good you are documenting this event stage by stage. I have noted throughout your blog the amount of changes the town has gone through. We often don't notice until we are confronted with the images. Soon this will be semi Old Hyde.

Oh, no! I am just coming onto this scene. They are going to tear it down!? I hope that they are at least salvaging everything that they can. That door is just too pretty!

I'm hoping that the door somehow can be saved and incorporated somewhere else. Very sad to see another beautiful building demolished.
I agree with Linda, it seems like the doorway should be salvaged. Such a pity if it isn't.
