Dukinfield Arms
Just over the border at the junction of Cheetham Hill Road and Birch Lane is the Dukinfield Arms.
At least it used to be, but the pub closed some years ago and was converted into a licensed grocers.

What a wonderful drawing. I remember this pub so well. Guess I shouldn't be surprised to learn it is not a pub anymore. Have a lovely weekend. Linda
wow I loved this effect!

Is this a photograph that has been altered to look like a painting? It's very, very good. I love that old building. I bet it was a great pub.
It's now known locally as 'The Iron Brew' shop... due to the signage outside. Not a pub I liked when it was up Gerald.
have you got a photo of the grocery? i'd love to see what it sells (very pretty drawing, too)
Not a drawing, I'm afraid, but a "treated" version of the photograph posted at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1310708... Same author, though, it would appear -- so that's OK!
Hi Kevin - well-spotted that you found my original photo on Geograph and equated it with this treated version.
