Church View

What would you expect to see if you were standing in Church View?

Exactly - this is the rear of St George's Church.

The netball court belongs to the nearby school.

Hello Hyde :)

Greetings :)

This is an excellent photo. This is a truly beautiful church set in a calm peaceful surroundings. Of course, the peace will be shattered when children are on the court enjoying themselves.

This is a lovely church when compared to modern churches which are built without any aesthetic sense. A place to pray should be beautiful also to inspire and soothe a soul suffering from the trials and tribulations of this mundane world.

Have a bright and beautiful Sunday Hyde :)

I remember this well, as a former St George's pupil. Can you still cut through to Gower Road from Church View?

Good to see your photo of St George's today. I have a similar photo taken from the same position hanging on my study wall. I was vicar of St George's for eleven years (1988-99)and always enjoy the Hyde daily photo.

This was the route we walked to Greenfield Street School most days in the early 1970s Gerald.. I well remember the old St Georges School and of course this area of playground was then a grave yard.
