Preparing for the Zebra

Last September I showed you a photo of the Stockport Road bus stop that was going to be closed for the construction of a zebra crossing.

As you can see the stop has been removed and work has begun on preparing the road for construction of the crossing.

We originally thought the stop on the other side would be retained, but the bus shelter was removed a couple of weeks ago and doubtless the stop will go too.

I had no idea what a zebra crossing, certainly unlikely that any would live near enough to need one. I looked it up, interesting. Here is California pedestrians ALWAYS has the priority in crossing the street. None the less, good idea to paint up the road with warning that a designated space for pedestrians is coming up.

I'd just like to say that I really appreciate getting to know the area.

Things take to long to get finished, don't they? Nice series spread out over time, Gerald. Thanks for the links.
