On the Twelfth Day of Christmas
Today is the twelfth day of Christmas when tradition dictates that we take down the decorations and pack them away until the end of the year.
Here is the Town Hall all lit up. See how it looked in 1998.
This is looking straight up Market Street with the market-traders busy packing up for the day. Can you spot the moon?

same tradition in greece too - after epiphany, the christmas decos come down and we wait for spring...
Really pretty, Gerald. I am in the middle of removing all decorations and hoovering up thousands of needles. The Christmas tree stands forlorn in the front garden awaiting recycling. Unlike Eric who says Parisians simply chuck theirs out of the window the ground below! LOL
Most all of our decorations are down around the city as they are in our home.
Beautiful indeed. I must tell it to my wife - she wants the decorations to be up as long as possible.
Yes today is Epiphany and I am going to an Epiphany party tonight given by the priest at my church. I took my decorations down on January 2. These are beautiful night shots! I always have a hard time with them.
I didn't know there was a tradition. Some people here decide to leave up their lights all year.
I apologize my recent blog entry brought back bad memories for you.
Gorgeous Photo!
thanks for reminding me, I had forgotten about it.
I have mentioned your blog on a post I am doing for Friday(9th) on my blog.

I love both the 199 version as well as the one you show today. I love Christmas lights photos and did not get out to take any this year.
I don't think I'd want to live opposite the town hall, far too much light pollution!
Lovely photo, it must be nice having the city decorated for so long, I lived in Dubai for a while and the whole city was lit up at least 6 months out of the year for one reason or the other, while here in Pakistan we spend approximately 12 hours in darkness for lack of electricity.
Thats 12 hours EVERYDAY :-)
Christmas lights make nice photos, but I didn't get around to taking any this year and as it is the twelfth day of Christmas it seems like I've missed my opportunity.
Whoops, packed up my xmas decor Friday. I started early though.
