The finger-post at this kissing-gate on Higham Lane indicates that is half a mile to Gee Cross.

The city is just over there! Nice picture! In fact,I grow up on a farm. I can remember that it was a hill and from there we`d see the city .So happy memories!

The "city" in view is Manchester and its surrounding towns and villages.

If you do a google-search you will find a variety of answers to this question

here we are about three quarters to three fifths of the way up the hill.

Seem s bit difficult to get there, but I suppose that is for stopping cattle.

i love this sight - the big city is in the distance, and you can view it form a country road lush with grass. it's perfect to live so far away and yet just close enough to the big smoke

Those blocks of flats in the distance look like those in Ashton

The tallish buildings in the middle distance are mostly 10 storey flats - the yellow blob is IKEA in Ashton-under-Lyne

I like this one, with the view of the town in the background.

I used to play in them flats.
As a child I watched them go up.
Technically, you can see my childhood home in this picture.
