Sweetie Corner
Last week when I published a picture of Rock Street, I asked if anyone could guess what was written on the sign of the house on the right.
SWEETIE CORNER - I think there was a confectioner's shop here at one time.
I doubt though if it was ever as popular as Hett's Sweet Shop

that was somethng i would have never guessed
Not too many sweet shops around central London. Maybe you can take us inside an old fashion traditional one. If there are any near you.
That is a wonderful name. We have one very old fashioned sweet shop here, and I must summon up the courage to ask permission to snap inside. Ithink this is the first sweetie name I have ever seen.
Ahhh. here a sweetie is a diminutive name for a sweetheart of lovd one. And a sweetie is a lolly, which for you is an ice and for us an icypole or ice block.
Hmm?
Here’s what happens when you wait a couple of hours to see the pope pass by…

I've walked around this area all my life and never noticed this... I have stood on that corner and the opersite but not seen this.. well captured Gerald.
I remember "Sweetie Corner" as a sweet shop very well as a girl I knew from school owned it!
