Dewsnap Lane

The theme for City Daily Photobloggers, this first of July, is Signs that say "No".

Here the "No Through Road" sign carries the additional threat/warning "No Turning Point". With two large farms down the lane, I would doubt the actuallity of the case, but if you were a stranger in a car, would you take the chance?

This is the end of Dewsnap Lane. To the left is Lumb Farm and to the right is Rabbit Lane.

Nice unique NO sign, Gerald. And, no, I wouldn't continue down that lane for fear of getting stuck in a ditch while trying to turn around.

PS-The portal is down, so you might want to put in the old style links to participating posts until they get things fixed.

Kim is right. I will obey the sign not to get stuck in the mud!!
Good choice.

A definite no as I would expect from you now.

Ps. Blogger is also having internal image publishing probs. I had to clear caches.

You have made an early start - whatelse! what seems like a remote lovely place yet must be close to town really. Looks just right. My husband is a great one for venturing on despite any road signs!

If your husband ventures in lane like this he must be good at reversing as well because it doesn't look like they are kidding!

In other words, turn around NOw!

Gerald, that's a really picturesque sign - reminds me of James Herriot stories.

And yes, I would reverse up this stretch for a quick getaway!!

It would have been more straight forward to say: Keep off, private property? ^_^ I don't know ....

Love it, very unusual and love Dewsnap lane.

I know thathis sign well Gerald.. as you say it is to put off folk driving down the lane any further. Looks like someone bumped the sign .. maybe when turning around there ;o)

Not sure that I would have made it this far down the lane, Gerald that alone further.

A nice choice for the Theme.

Like all the others say, I will obey the sign too.
Happy theme day!

Hi Gerald,

The bees are back in Brookville, Ohio. I hope for the rest of the year at least. I even got one on my Better Blog Writing post today. LOL

I see you found an adorable No sign for our July Theme Day. I like the emphasis more on the scene than the sign. A very nice photograph.

Isn't it almost funny to think of adult people scurrying around their communities taking pictures of signs. And if somebody had asked what that is all about and you said a sign with "no" on it, they might... well. It is kind of funny.

I probably wouldnt understand either sign and keep going, not wanting to turn around right there.

I imagine the farm families have gotten tired of people turning around on their property. Perfect for the theme.

I think that rambling round is right: THe farm families got tired of unwanted visitors turning around on their property. I wouldn't venture down there.

Nope, I would not take the chance. Especially not with all that mud! I tend to obey all traffic signs anyway. ;-)

Excellent sign and composition. No doubt, the folks at the end of the lane get tired of people coming down, dead ending, and then having to turn around.

Happy Theme Day!

Thanks for stopping by my BADP. I think NO TURNING POINT sounds very ominous! I imagine the residents down the lane are getting a chuckle!

Lovely photograph, and a nice unusual sign. Happy Theme Day :)

Quite picturesque, and as Rose says, so English! I'm not well-versed in British English, so I would go forward, since the sign tells me not to turn. I'd want to go on, as the lane entices me.

Many times I've found myself unable to turn round in a country dead-end! Glad they warned first.

Very different---I like it!

Yes, I would take the chance. Haha.. Especially if you have gone so far and want to see what's inside.

Happy Theme Day!

No means no but I guess some just don't believe it. Just looking at the lane I would have turned around.

In different contexts, this sign could be highly philosophical.
