Kerry Foods Factory from the train

This used to known as the Walls sausage factory until it was taken over by Kerry Foods in 1994.

According to Tameside MBC the main operations at the site include the processing and packaging of pork and bacon products such as sausage and sliced bacon, white meat products such as turkey rashers and distribution of some 700 tonnes of food products each week.

It lies by the former Godley East railway station.

Well it's about dinner time here on the West coast of the USA so you are making my mouth water. Great catch going by the plant...

Happy days, I used to work there when I was a student between 1906 -1970. Some friends and I used to be there every holidays - we loved it. My first job was peeling boiled eggs for the grosvener pies. But, also my first taste of working when there was a strike on and having to pass an angry picket line!

It's very beautiful: the train movement gives to the scene an idea like a paint !

Interesting facts about the factory for you K post. I have to ask, though, what is a rasher?

Good catch from the train, Gerald.
Thanks for your help on my theme day post yesterday. I haven't tried it yet, but I wanted to thank you for your kindness.

Being a vegetarian this place would not interest me but I am sure my husband would love their products. Love the movement blur on the photo.

Very unassuming building for all those sausages. Who would guess what is happening behind those walls.

Hmmmm... so where are Walls now? I used to like the advert with a terrier growling "Walls!".
