Crane
This crane is flying over Dowson Road.
It is being used in the construction of the retirement apartments being built on the site of the former car showrooms demolished last year.
Having viewed the plans and seen others in the area, we've decided that, apart from anything else, they are outside our budget, so we'll be setting our sights somewhat lower on the ground.

wow! we were just talking about cranes,( we were on hiliday by car and drove 3000 kmts) there are so many on the side of the roads!
How much would that cost the government, or are they all from pivate companies?
Yeh and when they fall down, don't talk about that! The heavy weight oooow!
I just posted som vacation pics..
Greetings
It's been interesting watching this crane, when the winds were very bad the other week worked stopped for a while I bet.
The Garage was always known as Cockshoots, I walked past there so many times in my life to and from secondary school, and to Hyde and Cheetham Fold and back. I even lived for a short while in the first house further up Dowson Road and have very fond memories of that house and that time.
A simple picture but with the power to take me back to my teens.
Tom - to quote that well known rock song - 'You took the words right out of my mouth'
Happy days
There were lots of tower cranes in Manchester when I was there last year
It is amusing as the DP Bloggers think some times of the same photograph!!
