Red
The CDPB theme for July is "red".
I had a photograph earmarked for today, but yesterday my good wife informed me that the subject matter really wasn't red. I'm a little bit colour-blind so my reds may be your oranges, browns, or ...
To commemorate the smoking ban in enclosed public spaces being imposed here from today, I considered finding a red "no smoking" sign, but "what", I thought, "is definitely red". Blood — that's red, but maybe it is not appropriate, so what is always the acceptable substitute? — tomato ketchup. No, I thought, enough of the sauce; lets show the real thing!

1 July is also the day that Singapore bans smoking in enclosed areas!
Happy Red Day.
Ah, you're great. I stayed up just for this.
Happy red day, indeed!
They are red, indeed ;-)
I love your new header!
Funny story. I listen to my wife as well. Also, bravo for the smoking ban.
You mean that you wouldn't sacrifice a little blood for Theme Day? Tomatoes are a good subject!
Those tomatoes are looking fresh! Nice shot.
It's red. You're not color-blind, for sure. :p
Slice me up so of those tomatoes and give me a tomato sandwich. Yum!
Well done Gerald. Tomatoes are definitely red.
I remember when the smoking ban was imposed in Singapore. I was there. I'm so glad I live in KL. hehehehe
It's red to me. If you want you can change the colour to anything ;)
Those tomatoes are looking fresh, I'd love to have them with my salads or cooking as pasta source (which I'm doing just now.)
Red ripe tomatoes, that works for me.
It looks red to me :) I love tomato.
Happy theme day and happy Sunday to you and family.
Good choice and nothing like a beautiful fresh tomato - dressed with olive oil and basil. Yummy.
Hm, being the curious sort, I wonder what it was that you thought was red but your wife nixed...
The tomatoes work wonderfully! Glad you settled on the "real thing" instead of the sauce. :-)
Happy Theme Day!
Nice shot Gerald. I like the red tomatoes. I have some on the vine and they are still green and hopefully will look as good to eat as those in your photograph.

Can you explain me "beef tomatoes"?
I would take rather tomatos with £ 1.49
These toms are definately red! BTW Tel Aviv is on the Med sea and Eilat is on the Red sea.
hmm good choice! tomato is my favorite vegetable

I'm glad that you didn't show the ketchup sauce... i really hate it!

i liked your narration.
have a happy red sunday!
We used to have cherry tomatoes at home.As soon as they were ripe,we washed them and ate them like that.A very nice snack.
I knew a painter who, like you, didn't see the color red. No red at all in his paintings! Have a good Sunday, Gerald.
Bonne idee pour le theme du mois
Good idea for the topic of the month
hello I had thought of putting tomatos for the topic of the day… something of red. But the sun misses so that our tomatos are green… damage
This is the second theme day in which my photo didn't show up at the portal. I'm bummed! Do you know why that happens? I'm not getting much traffic.
nice picture.....nice tomatoes!
I like your new header too! I love tomatoes..especially right off the vine. they are hard to grow here, it doesn't get hot enough...but we keep trying.
Tomatos - my fav! And thanks for stopping by my red as well =)
G-Did you comment on ALL 100?!
Nothing's better than a juice, red tomato!
Nice shot of the 'redskins'. Hope you enjoyed the motor racing.
July 1 sees NSW banning indoor smoking in pubs and restaurants too. Thos tomatoes look nice and juicy.
Very summer-looking choice of red :)
I like tomatoes.
Thank you for the welcome again! I like how you think, really tickled my funny bone..LOL
Happy Red Day!
Yes ! It's a piece of joailery: a necklace.
Totally different style in presented the theme day, very original!
We banned smoking in NYC a couple years ago. There were a lot of upset restaurant and bar owners but businesses were not really affected at all.
Now, I'm a mood for some tomato and feta cheese salad.
I can't wait 'til our Jersey tomatoes ripen. :)
Those tomatoes are very expansive, in Mexico they are cheeper.
I am so glad for your visit and thank you very much for your commentaries.
I hope I have the opportunity to show, in person, the wonders of Mexico city.

Yep, they are red. They are also a favorite of mine!
A fine and fresh subject for the theme, they look great, ready for a good salad! By the way, where I can get these links, thanks in advance.
Thanks for visiting my blog - even if it isn't red. Your tomatoes are, just like many other of your post on this blog and your other ones.
Hm yummiii. I love tomatos.
Thanks Gerald for your comments on my new born DPB and thanks for putting my link as the this monthly theme participant
Good thing, that smoking ban!
The state of Victoria made the same move today, NSW soon to follow!
I like your tomatoes!
Tomatos are a beautiful and photogenic fruit!
Thanks for add my link on that list of blogs!
How do I get to know in advance the theme for 1st day of the month?
Gerard, you had the opportunity to post a bw photo arguing you are color blind, but since everybody knows tomatoes are red, you'd been clear. Good shot nonetheless.
I had a same question as Bergson. A web page says beef tomato refers to 'a particularly large fleshy variety of tomato.' Then, maybe more pulpy and juicy than other tomatoes?
