Palm Trees & Kwik Save

These palm trees outside the Town Hall are probably not as exotic as the ones Isabella posted on Naples DP yesterday.

Meanwhile, across the road, Hyde Kwik Save is one of 79 branches [a third of their stores] recently closed by the ailing supermarket firm. Current news is that 20 of the closed stores will be re-opening. With local competition from Asda and Morrisons, I doubt this will be one of those.

Nevertheless the building occupies a prime site in the centre of town. Originally it was home to the Hyde Equitable Cooperative Society

How do those palms survive your winter?

And will you miss the Kwik Save? Was it quick and did you save? ;-)

Our local Kwik Save became a Somerfield last year. Hate Tescos. We've been threatened with a white sugarcube. Will boycott going there.
