When I saw this old Rover parked in the street, I just had to take its picture.
Its bodywork so shines that it reflects the trees and the shop-front across the road.
The
Gordon Bennett classic car route is a 104 mile journey through the Irish counties of Carlow, Kildare and Laois.

I remember those, always thought it would be driven by a bank manager or if you like, the poor mans Rolls Royce.
I would like to be poor enough to afford such a poor man's car :-)) if that makes sense.
It's a beauty.
I think this beauty is owned by someone who loves the car!
The good old Rover P4. As outhouse said, the car of 1950/60's bank managers. It looks like it has been in a few races & shows.
Thank you for posting this lovely pic...when I was passing thru Westport A car club was also passing through Clare, Sligo... and beyond. Unfortunately the town also chose that day to have a large semi truck drive backwards thru the town to raise money for a charity--the streets of westport are not made for reverse driving of any kind, so it was a fiasco.
But on the plus side, the car club was waiting around and I got to actually sit inside some classic cars and see the details up close.
Here in the states I once saw a long parade of little Alpine Sunbeams-- what else could I do but abandon my plans for the day and follow them?
Gorgeous! Do you do deliveries to third-world countries?
Gerard, I don't know I had said it to you personally, but I will do it now. THANKS SO MUCH for your html lists of the Daily Photo sites around the world. I keep my directory of DP sites from your list. I like much better and it is easier to browse and use. Also, I believe I can repay some pagerank back through this blogroll and help the new DP that mushroom everyday. So thanks! We appreciate it.

I remember that car when I came in UK the first time in 1970 and, of course, I love it !
