Longtailed Tits
I'm sitting quietly typing at the computer and then all of a sudden I am disturbed by a tap, rap, tap at the window. The sound comes from a longtailed tit that flits between the branchs of the rosebush just outside. Frequently it flys on to the upper frame and jabs its beak at the glass.
Longtailed tits move very quickly and it is difficult to get a good picture. This is a composite of a few captures.
More photographs of the creature and a link to further information on the species and sound files are on my other blog Ackworth born, gone West.

Brilliant photos! Great shot.
Thank you for the visit to my post about some things I did back in the 1970s and 1980s and got back yesterday. It was all about "calligraphy" back then and that was the rage that brought the queen's scribe to America for the first time. His name, as I recall, is or was Donald Jackson. Those were the days before computers were on the desks of the world and we still used postage stamps and regular and air mail services to correspond with people all over the world. A letter to Moscow by air was 12 days and another two weeks to wait for a reply if the person was approved to be mailing stuff out of the country. The same for East Germany and China as well as for the occupied countries of Estonnia. Those were totally different days.
I wonder, sometimes, what we would have done if we had computers in those days.
Thanks again for visiting.
Happy Easter and Happy birthday 4 tomorrow.. well done
I like the composite photo. My favorite photo is the outstretched wing. It is absolutely beautiful.
Being that this is Easter, it looked like an angel wing outside your window.
Beautiful bird and great photos!
