I'm a born and bred "Hydonian" though have not been in Hyde for many a year now. I presently live in the Philippines and anticipate this will be where I shall remain. I stumbled across this site just yesterday and what memories it brought. The corner of Dowson Road and Market street even!!! Amazingly, it does not look too different from my school days (I left school in 1958 !). I lived in Dowson Road (at the higher reaches (173 I seem to remember) and later in Gower Road (but a few minutes stroll from the spot the photo was taken). I will be browsing for some time I'm sure and also looking forward to new postings. Thanks for this trip down memory lane.
