June Reflections in the Peak Forest Canal

I took this photograph on the 30th June 2010.

The willows are hanging over the canal nicely and the new houses on the site of the former Automaster's Works are taking shape.

Compare this view with previous views of the Peak Forest Canal from Manchester Road:For further weekend reflections visit Newtown Area Photo.

What a contrast with the earlier photos. I love the idea of shooting the same, or similar, scene over to show changes.

It's nice and very interesting to see this same area over the years.
I really like the old black and white one.

Such a rich change from the bleak winter shot.

A vast difference from the 1980 photo.

It's bigger than it first seems. What were such canals used for? Small freight barges, I'm guessing.

How neat that you have so many photos back to 1980 to show us the changes that have occurred. It looks so different 3o years later!
