Photo of the Year 2007

This view of the rear of St Thomas the Apostle on Lumn Road was taken from Tinkers Passage. I posted a view of the front of the church on May 30th 2007 and in June a close-up of the bell tower.

Visitors to this blog were asked to vote for their favourite photos from twelve contenders. St Thomas the Apostle beat Captain Clarke Bridge by 157 votes to 152. The runner-up can be seen on Ackworth born, gone West together with full details of the voting and comments on the twelve contenders. All 12 photographs can be viewed at Best of Hyde Daily Photo 2007.

This month I am not attempting to create a list of permalinks to participating blogs. Instead I have compiled a list of those blogs that registered on the CDPB forum to run with the theme. They are listed in chronological order with links to their earliest relevant archived post. This may not be the actual start date of the blog. I won't be adding blogs who didn't register for the theme, or who registered at the last minute. The information regarding authors and start dates is taken from Around The World with Daily Photoblogs Old and New.

Beautiful church. Happy New Year!

I couldn't decide and am leaving it up to the votes. I narrowed my down to seven. Yikes! Hate to say I just couldn't pick one. Come take a look and put your vote in.

I never cease to be amazed by the amount of time and effort you put into this community. Listing blogs in the order in which they started makes for a fairly unique and interesting piece of history... and it's history about us, the photobloggers!

Thanks for all the energy you've channelled into the group, and have a happy 2008!

Happy New Year, Gerald! Although my fave of yours was the bridge, this one won a place in my heart, too. I poke about in old church yards and cemeteries doing historical research, and since I have a lot of ancestors from the region where you live, I may someday find myself poking about near Hyde. . .and will feel right at home because of your blog. Many thanks for all you do for the rest of us through the year. You are one of the most generous, hardworking members of our CDPB community, and that is very much appreciated by all of us!

Good choice Gerald. I love the theatre royal photo too - beautiful!!!

I love how you have listed all the blogs and their starter dates but it does make me feel very sad that i am just unable to visit as many as i would like. it takes an hour to visit 6 blogs and leave a comment on a good day!!! So I can really only visit some of those that visit me!!
