Canalside Tanks

Some people came up with really strange answers when I asked last week What is this?".

The winner is definitely Gwyn from Juneau, Alaska who said it was a fuel tank.

Actually there are two of them in the yard of a textile mill by the Peak Forest Canal. I can't be certain that they actually contain fuel; they may store some other chemical.

You can view the tanks from the opposite direction on my Sithenah photoblog. That photograph was taken just a few yards past the top of the stone pathway I posted earlier.
