Not a Takeaway Then

When I earlier showed a picture of the shop to let on Market Street next to Long Meadow Passage, fears were expressed that it would end up as yet another fast food takeaway.

In fact it has become an undertakers or, as they are called here these days, a funeral directors.

So it is still a ‘take-away’ of sorts?

LOL, yes "takeout" as we call it here in the US, but now it is much more expensive.
I love how that speed sign stands out, Gerald.

Kris spot on as always. I wonder what that says about the econonmy a funeral directors instead of take- away.

Well Kris beat me to it. I couldn't wait to use the same line! Day late, and a dollar short I guess.

Interesting. Where I used to live in south London, the problem isn't with too many takeaways but with too many betting shops. Despite loads of local public pressure and objections, yet another one has just been approved. I can't imagine why the betting shop company went through with the application in the end - the objections were so fierce I can't see them getting any customers.
