I just read in the newspaper about Raj Patel's book "Stuffed and Starved", about the overwhelming force of supermarkets with their convenience and abundance of fat, sugar and artificial additives. This shop stems from a time in which a candy was still a special treat, a little taste jewel, to spend your last dime to. I also like the neat-and-tidyness very much, how different from the screaming colors urging you to buy "something new"!
